How can we inspire people to visit the physical museum through a digital experience?


The Maritime Museum aimed to balance their communication when telling Denmark’s maritime stories, keeping three diverse target groups in mind: families, tourists, and maritime enthusiasts.

Moreover, they faced challenges in attracting website visitors, encouraging longer stays, and converting these visitors into museum guests. They envisioned a clearer link between the museum experience and website communication.

Thus, we were tasked with improving the information architecture and navigation structure, along with developing a new and improved design guide to support their vision.

A Re-design and Re-structure of User Experience and Technical Platform


Identifying three core values for the website enabled us to design a distinct module library. From this, we built a coherent, surprising, and easy-to-navigate website.

By understanding the needs of the three specific target groups, we designed a structure that effectively caters to each group's content and navigation preferences.

Drawing inspiration from the architecture and nature of the museum, we crafted a new design guide encompassing shapes, colors, and visual elements.

Utilizing Sanity, we implemented a new tech stack that empowers employees to easily and intuitively create and maintain content, events, and exhibitions.
